D 263® bio is a colorless borosilicate glass with homogeneous and low intrinsic autofluorescence over the entire spectral range. Precisely controlled refractive index tolerances ensure consistent high optical transmission properties and diagnostic results. It has excellent chemical stability and tolerance to reagents used in microarray and diagnostic protocols.
D 263® bio is produced using SCHOTT's unique down-draw method, which produces a non-porous and ultra-flat fire-polished surface quality on both sides of glass of the target thickness without the need for repolishing. Available in round wafer sizes or custom-cut rectangular substrates, the glass is inspected, packaged, and cleaned to meet the stringent standards of the biotechnology and semiconductor industries.
Chemically reinforced and easily structured, the glass can be used in numerous applications of high optical and chemical quality, such as substrate glass for optical diagnostics, microfluidic components, or other consumer and industrial applications.
