Alloy 42 Low Expansion Template Grade Alloy (ASTM F30) is a low expansion alloy very similar to Alloy 36 with a slightly different coefficient of thermal expansion.

Suitable for: Covers, lead frames, stencil/etch, telecommunications and aircraft industries, medical, electronics and automotive industries; provides a more economical alternative to Kovar when sealing is not required.

Alloy 42 has an almost constant low rate of thermal expansion at temperatures up to about 650°F (343°C), making it easy to work and form hot or cold. Alloy 42 is widely used in the medical, electronic and vehicle industries.
